Tecza Landscape Group Introduce
For property owners and facility managers across the Illinois region, maintaining a pristine, healthy exterior is a year-round commitment that requires expertise, robust equipment, and unwavering consistency. Tecza Landscape Group, operating out of Elgin, IL, positions itself as a long-established Landscape Designer and maintenance specialist, with a history tracing back to 1937 when the business began with a focus on horticultural commitment and old-world craftsmanship. Today, the company services and nurtures landscape environments for a wide range of clientele, spanning both residential communities and commercial properties.
Tecza Landscape Group's core strength lies in providing a holistic approach to landscape health and seasonal property management. Unlike some contractors who focus only on mowing or design, this company offers specialized services like Turf Care, Tree Care, and advanced Snow Management, which are vital for surviving the diverse and often challenging weather conditions of Northern Illinois. They create specific maintenance plans that are tailor-made to preserve and protect the beauty and health of the overall landscape, ensuring that every service is performed by what they describe as fully trained and licensed technicians.
Their service offering extends beyond the warm-weather growing season, making them a crucial partner for commercial operations during the winter. With specialized equipment and systems, their Snow Management division handles everything from Snow Removal and Snow Relocation to essential Deicing Services. For commercial customers, they promote a “zero tolerance program” and offer a dedicated approach to multi-family communities, using “real time” dispatch and routing systems with their corporate-owned and maintained equipment fleet. This ensures that Illinois businesses can maintain safe and accessible properties even during severe winter weather events.
It is, however, critically important for Illinois users to conduct due diligence, as the company has faced significant negative feedback regarding operational standards and employee practices. One customer review from a mobile home community detailed extensive and ongoing property damage to home skirting caused by high-power weed trimmers used by the lawn care crews, with no apparent corrective action despite multiple complaints. The reported damage exposed pipes and created entry points for animals, leading to professional repair estimates exceeding $1000 for a single family, and this being a widespread issue in the community.
Furthermore, another public comment raised serious concerns about the company's internal culture and employment practices, including allegations of illegally docking employee pay and maintaining a toxic work environment. This suggests that while the company has a long history and a broad service list, there may be internal challenges that directly impact the quality of on-the-ground service and employee morale, which is a key factor in consistent, careful workmanship. Prospective clients must weigh the company’s claimed expertise and wide service range against these substantial customer and employee complaints before making a hiring decision.

Tecza Landscape Group presents as an attractive option for large-scale, high-demand clients in Illinois—such as commercial businesses, property management companies, and multi-family residential complexes—who require comprehensive, non-stop service. The main factors worth choosing this group for are their extensive, multi-decade history in the Chicagoland region and their demonstrated operational scale, particularly in essential winter services. Their Commercial Snow Management division is a significant asset, offering a systematic approach to Snow Removal and Deicing Services that is critical for maintaining safety and business continuity during harsh Illinois winters, supported by dedicated equipment and real-time logistics.
The specialized focus on Horticultural Services, Tree Care, and advanced Turf Care also makes them a strong contender for clients who prioritize the long-term health and premium appearance of their high-visibility landscaping. Their commitment to utilizing certified specialists suggests a deep understanding of agronomy and plant pathology, which goes beyond simple Lawn Care.
However, it must be emphasized that the highly concerning recent negative feedback demands cautious consideration. The allegations of property damage from routine Lawn Maintenance practices and the reports of questionable employee compensation policies are serious red flags. For any Illinois resident or business, the choice to hire Tecza Landscape Group should be contingent upon establishing a clear, written agreement that explicitly addresses accountability for property damage, outlines acceptable equipment usage, and provides assurance that internal labor practices do not compromise the morale or quality of the field teams. Only by verifying that the company's current on-site service execution matches their long-standing professional claims and organizational scale can a prospective client mitigate the significant risks highlighted by recent customer experiences.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This company has caused extensive damage to the skirting of my mobile home. They were hired by the owners of the park to provide lawn care and there are many home owners now facing hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars worth of repairs. They use high power weed trimmers with no guard and the string is ripping apart our siding. Even after multiple families complaining to the office the damage continues. I have video proof of the trimmer ripping off huge chunk of skirting exposing our pipes to the weather and providing an entryway for animals to enter causing damage to electrical and insulation. I have professional estimates of over $1000 and there are MANY families in our community facing the same repair bills.
August 28 · Dean HicksteinSeems like a crappy, toxic company to work for. I wouldn't work for them, or hire them if this is how they treat their employees. Sounds like ownership needs to catch up with the times... Charging for uniforms is one thing, kind of crappy, but not unusual. Docking employee pay however, isn't just immoral, It's illegal. I will be reporting this to your states labor board.
September 16 · John SmithWe were sitting in the house and we heard a loud snap went outside and saw that they broke my decorative fence right in half they didn't come to the door and tell us they didn't do anything when we went out we saw him riding down the middle of the street on his tractor have had this fence in the same place for 6 years and never a problem then today guess they decided to drive into it I called and notified Tesco let's see what they do, I've heard from other people they don't do nothing I sure hope they just acknowledge this
October 31 · Barbara ZimmermanThe current ownership of Tecza Environmentalis not owed or run by any Tecza. My grandfather started this business as a young Polish immigrant. No family members are employed by this company. I am a Tecza, do not work with this company, they will not provide the experience you deserve.
September 28 · kelly muisengathe owner needs to train their workers how to drive safely. I’ve already had multiple issues on multiple days where I’ve had to slam my brakes cause of your drivers. Now when I see one of your companies vehicles I’m extra cautious since I’m well aware how inconsiderate your employees are. I noticed on the other reviews I’m not the only one who’s had this issue.
July 16 · Vito RodriguezTezca was the worst landscape service our association has hired. Very poor service. I observed many times workers taking breaks while on shift. While working, they walked in groups versus spreading out and doing the work. As a result, they consistently left trimmings behind. Additionally, we paid for a fall cleaning and they never performed the work. We had leaves throughout our complex. As a test, I specifically laid a 3’ branch in a spot they should have been mowing and it was never picked up. It stayed there for 2 months. We had weekly visits set up in our contract. It was ignored at least 6 times. That beyond a shadow of doubt proved to me they were not mowing the complex and they didn’t perform fall cleaning. There are much better landscape companies out there to be stuck with Tezca. If you choose to use them, make sure to stay on top of them.
