I called ahead to get a price on slate chips. They gave me a good price of around $250 per ton. The lady on the phone told me they have a scale on the loader. So I drove there and got loaded. Now mind you. I buy slate chips all the time. When I saw what they had given me. I knew I was being scammed. I had about half of what I normally get. I then asked to see the scale. Guess what, no scale. I told the loader that was no ton. He told me a yard was 2600 lbs. That sounds about right. I would say 1 yd is between 2200lbs and 2600lbs. But this was no yd and not even close to 1 ton. I immediately called and asked to speak to the manager while in the yard. There was no manager on duty. I told them to have him call me right away. I dumped the chips right is right where my truck stood. Five days later still no phone call. Which leads me to believe they know exactly what they are doing. In most cases Siteone is almost always way over priced. But once in a while they will surprise you. Now it seems as though they have started cheating there customers. I have now reached out to the state of Illinois to report them to the department that handles weights and measures. Being Illinois who knows if anything will happen to them. But I wanted to make sure everyone else knows. I wasted 4 hours driving there. Then had to dump the slate and go to another more reputable company to make my perchance. I am done with this over priced scamming company. You should be done to.

Went in to buy 4 bag 30 lb Bayer Dylox 6.2 price was much higher than I had see elsewhere online so I asked for better price. I think it was the owner that said “$90 or nothing I can’t keep it in stock”. So I left and bought on line from Texas supplier for $63.97. Was trying to support local businesses.
